ABCI HAUL PICS+MOM'S PRESENT FROM CHINA

So finally, Mom came home and I got the digital camera back and I immediately took pics of my hauls.

So without further adieu, I present to you, my ABCI SALE HAUL.

Here are my ABCI hauls. Jurlique is for mom, Davidoff Game is for hubby and YSL Rouge Volupte is for moi. :)

TOTAL: 2100PHP (O.O)

Mom had a trip to the Great Wall and look what she got in the Forbidden City. Actually, she bought three of these. One for herself, one for a friend and one for me. I chose the gold among the silver and copper. It's sooo lovely, eh? :)

Argh. I should've been there, if not for our dayum rehearsal. :(

These are real swarovski crystals (the stones on the cover). It's gold- plated and it costs around 1800php (when converted, I forgot the RNB price of this one)

It's a lovely vanity mirror. One side magnifies an image twice. :)

I feel like I'm Imelda Marcos with this one (LOL LOL LOL LOL). If you've seen her documentary film "IMELDA", her 18k gold vanity mirror with her name engraved on the cover with the help of good ol' amsterdam diamonds was shown in the film and apparently, was one of the subjects of controversy pertaining to her ill- gotten wealth. It's an interesting eye candy. Watch it. :)

*Rouge Volupte review in the next post and my new YSL lippie haul pics and review in the next posts! :)

I CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF YSL LIPPIES!!! :)

On April 18, 2006, little Suri Cruise made her stylish debut to parents Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise. Unbeknownst to her, the world had been anxiously awaiting her arrival too. While most girls are considered a little princess to their parents, Suri was born into Hollywood royalty. In the beginning, people were naturally curious to know what the little girl looked like, and if the little darling resembled her celebrity parents. After she landed her first magazine cover with Vanity Fair, the attention shifted from Suri’s confirmed cuteness to her chic clothes. Although she’s never actually walked the red carpet, everyone began to ask: What is she wearing?

HUBBY'S SURPRISE UPDATE+UPCOMING ENTRIES+ABCI SALE UPDATE

Hello my daisies! I've been itching to post my hauls from the ABCI sale in Paseo Center but since my digital camera is with my mom in China, I can't take decent pictures cos my camera phone doesn't give justice to any photograph at all. BOO it's carl zeiss lense!

HUBBY'S SURPRISE UPDATE: HE FINALLY SAW WICKED THE MUSICAL IN BROADWAY AT THE GERSHWIN THEATER AND HE WAS GUSHING HOW GREAT IT WAS. HE ALSO TOLD ME THAT HE WISHED THAT I WAS THERE TO EXPERIENCE WICKED WITH HIM. AWWW...

AND FINALLY! HE GOT ME A WICKED SHIRT!!!! :)

NO ONE MOURNS THE WICKED...

Anyhoo, here's what I managed to haul. Surprisingly, it's quite a selfless haul cos I bought stuff for my hubby and mom, which are my most expensive hauls btw at 800php ea. My only haul for myself is a rouge volupte in #20 at 500php only.

Take a look at my ABCI hauls. Of course, these are company provided images. Don't worry, I'll post the actual pictures by tomorrow or by saturday.

DAVIDOFF GAME 30ML AT 800PHP (FOR HUBBY)

JURLIQUE SOOTHING FOAMING CLEANSER AT 800PHP (FOR MOM)

YVES SAINT LAURENT ROUGE VOLUPTE SILKY-SENSATION LIPSTICK IN 20 (ROSE EPICE)

I was almost tempted to buy the gift perfume sets cos they're kinda' cheap. I was eyeing the Live by J.LO set. It comes with a body wash, lotion and a 30ml perfume. I've always loved how perfect this scent is for the evening.

Also, I was quite intrigued to buy a new foundation. Unfortunately, I don't have matching shades for the Guerlain Parure Aqua. And there are tons of shades (well, I'm exaggerating a bit. around 4 or 5 shades only) for the perfect touch foundation. I'm kinda' intrigued to try this foundation.
So I MIGHT get the following stuff this saturday:

YSL PERFECT TOUCH FOUNDATION
LIVE BY J.LO SET

I'M SOOO HAPPY!!!!

That's it for my update ladies. :)

PERSONAL NOTE: I GOTTA STOP SHOPPING AS OF THE MOMENT. XMAS IS COMING SOON! AND IT'S COMING FAST! YAY!

SURPRISE FOR BUBEE FROM BUBEE :)

So my hubby is in the States right now with his family. I'm so happy that their dream vacation has finally materialized. Although I'm missing him terribly, I can't help but be happy for him. Argh! I miss my macho-babuy every single day! God I just hope when I wake up it's Nov.16 already.

Macho-babuy told me that he has two pasalubongs for me. And he said "I hope you like it". Yay! I'm so happy upon hearing those words. Who wouldn't want pasalubongs?

Now the need to see him is getting stronger. I persuaded him to tell me what his surprise pasalubongs are. And he kept on telling "Bakit ba gusto mo nang malaman ayaw mo ng surprise?" Then I'll keep on replying OUCHIE! MY SLASHED NAIL IS HURTING AND A CLUE OF WHAT YOUR PASALUBONGS ARE WILL MAKE IT BETTER! He replied "Haay. Haha. Alrighty then. Makeup! :)"

Yoohoo!!! It's the magic word. I was actually expecting souvenir stuff from broadway but he told me that the prices of the items are pretty steep. I told him that I'll be happy if he gets me a shirt. But apparently, even the shirts are expensive. Oh well, I'm crossing my fingers. :)

He told me the first time he set foot once again in New York: "I'll take you here one day." :) Awww...He has always been a sweet guy. That's why I keep on falling in love with him each day. :)

I can't wait for his return. I don't want to be a hypocrite. I want to admit that I am expecting his pasalubongs but more than anything else, I miss his warm laughter, his sweet smile, his calm voice and his gentle kiss. :)

MACHO- BABUY! UWE! :)

MAKE- UP SAVERS

So can you keep your make-up clean and last longer? Here are some tips:

DON'T ENJOY TOO MUCH WHEN SHARPENING

- I know how sharpening a pencil can make you feel happy in a weird kinda' way. I do experience a bit of joy when I sharpen pencils (I don't know about you guys). When it comes to sharpening eyeliners, make sure you twist it two- three times only to make your liner last longer. If you sharpen it long enough, you lose a considerable amount of the product itself. Plus, a blunted pencil edge proves to be better in creating a soft and natural look for the eyes as compared to sharp edges that can give too defined and thin lines. Much worse, you can gouge your eye with it.

H-Y-G-I-E-N-E

- So they say that make- ups have shelf lives. While this is true, you can prolong the shelf life by practicing make- up hygiene. If you have bought a Lancome mascara that's really expensive plus 2 more back- ups, then you have to throw 'em all after 3 mos. though you haven't used up the tube yet or the 3 back- ups haven't been touched yet. I say don't lend make- ups, especially those that touch the sensible parts of your face like mascaras, eyeliners and lipsticks. Bacteria start to live and multiply in your wands if you keep on lending it to people because even though if they are disease- free, they still have different bacteria on their lids, lashes and eyes due to dirt that they encounter through the air. It pays to be firm sometimes. So let them know your stand on cosmetics lending. Don't fret, it's for the good of the both of you. You wouldn't want to throw your bucks away, right?

INVEST ON VERSATILE PRODUCTS

- Try buying lip and cheek stains that will save you from buying either a blush or a lipstick. A lipstick can also come in handy as a blush if ever you run out of it. Petroleum jelly is a good lipgloss that heals while beautifies. Keep your beauty bag lightweight and handy, and keep your wallet fat and happy. :)

MAKE USE OF 'POWDERED' STUFF

- So your face powder had a bad fall from your bag and it was literally murdered. Collect whatever was left, put it in a sifter and use a puff or a powder brush to still make use of it. Your favorite eyeshadow was stepped on by your clumsy labrador. Get whatever was left and do the alcohol method (research how it is done on the net) and bring it back to how it was before. You're driving off to work and you're putting on your newly- bought lipstick. Then you got surprised that the GO signal came up so fast then the lovely lipstick snapped off from the tube. Get the lipstick, put it in a ziploc or any plastic then crush it at home and place it in a container to still use it. These cost- efficient procedures prove to save you from buying replacements. It also unleashes some creativity within you. If you want, you can also mix and match powdered eyeshadows to create a color that's uniquely your own!

HOPE THIS ENTRY HELPS YOU IN SAVING YOUR MAKE- UP WHILE SAVING YOUR FACE AND MOST ESPECIALLY, YOUR WALLET. :)

RECESSION- PROOF YOUR BEAUTY BAG

So the Economy's not going anywhere near better and make- ups are not getting any cheaper. So here are a few tips on how to RECESSION- PROOF YOUR BEAUTY BAG

IT IS QUITE UNWISE TO BACK- UP PRODUCTS

- So you have your favorite Nars eyeshadow. Then you're freaking out that it might go Out of Stock so you bought 4 back- ups. Backing up products are not bad as long as you don't waste money for it. Make- ups have shelf lives so if you're backing up a product, make sure it's the one you need and use the most. There's no use backing up products that you find cute. Chances are, you might get tired of 'em so you'll more or less end up selling your back- ups. Don't worry, companies announce beforehand if they are discontinuing a product. If it's something that you really like, just buy one or two or try discovering other brands. I'm sure they have tons of products that are worth checking out.

THERE'S ONE IN EVERY BRAND

- Maybelline has becoming the leading brand in terms of producing mascaras, Ever Bilena has great eyeliners and Avon has quite a range of quality lipsticks. Your eyeliner or mascara doesn't have to be MAC or MUFE always. I wouldn't spend 800 bucks for an eyeliner because not all of the expensive ones are exceptional. So if you're planning to use Parure Extreme Foundation as your HG, you have to degrade some products if you want to save. For me, I'd go for an Ever Bilena Eyeliner and a Maybelline Mascara so I could get another tube of MAC lipstick. There will always be one exceptional product in every brand, whether cheap or expensive.

BUY WISELY, SPEND LESS

- So the Bobbi Brown Foundation is a shade lighter than your skin tone because your shade went OOS. You're thinking that you would just have to apply a sheer amount and top it with a powder of your skin match to balance the foundation shade out. This is quite unwise. It will really show if you're wearing the wrong kind of foundation because natural lighting can be such a bitch. And to remedy the wrong shade you got, you'll buy another powder to match it with your skin tone, which is another expense for your wallet. So before you think of getting that foundation that's a shade lighter than your skin tone, I suggest you wait for new stocks or better yet, reserve yours. Who knows? You might use the money in the coming days because you'll never know when you will be needing it the most.

A TIME WELL- SPENT IS A MONEY WELL- SAVED

- It proves wise and valuable to spend some time checking every foundation or powder shade before purchasing one. Don't rely too much on SAs. They'll try their best to sell the product even if they know that it won't match your skin tone. Everyone's trying to earn nowadays. I suggest you do the jaw swatch test. Get a shade and apply it on your jaw until the lower part of your neck so you could gauge if it will even out your skin tone. So set a time for your make- up shopping, then carefully criticize each shade if you're buying foundations or powders. The 30- mins. I spent in a MUFE store to get my HD Foundation has saved me from buying the wrong foundation. And I'm lovin' it! Make it a habit to criticize the shades well.

THE 20- MINUTE RULE

- So you saw a cute Guerlain meteorites priced at 3500php. You can't get it off your mind but you're saving for your dream Clarisonic. Here's the 20- minute rule. Get out of the store and wander for 20 minutes. If it slipped off your mind without you noticing it unless you recognize the thought again, chances are, you don't really like it. You just found it cute and unique. So at least that saved you 3500php. But if you can't get it off your mind and you think about it after every 5 minutes, then it's time to get it because you really like it and will most likely use it always.

I HOPE THIS ENTRY HELPS YOU IN RECESSION- PROOFING YOUR BEAUTY BAG. FEEL FREE TO SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS AND TIPS ON HOW TO RECESSION- PROOF IT MORE! BEAUTY DOESN'T HAVE TO BE TAKEN OUT OF THE LIST JUST BECAUSE OF OUR WORSE FINANCIAL SITUATION. IT'S A MATTER OF KEEPING IN MIND WHAT'S IMPORTANT AND HAVING DISCIPLINE WHEN IT COMES TO SHOPPING. :)

BEAUTY FACT: LIPSTICK PRICES WILL MOST LIKELY GO UP BECAUSE THEY ARE A WOMAN'S LITTLE LUXURIES.
