Here's an initial review on NYX EYESHADOW TRIO IN PURPLE/DEEP PURPLE/PRUNE

PRICE: 250PHP

THE VERDICT:

'Tis my first time to try NYX's eyeshadows. I was kinda' hesitant to try 'em before because I believe that I should spend for eyeshadows because expensive ones really have good quality. Perhaps it is because of some bad encounters with cheap eyeshadows that fall out, crease, smudge, and change color when applied on the lids. So instead of spending too much in finding good yet cheap eyeshadows, I decided to settle for the best ones.  I learned my lesson. The money I've wasted on cheap ones, when summed up, can buy me a pan from good brands like MAC or Laura Mercier.

This is just a gift from mom. She said that she got me this since I'm into theatre and this will come handy someday (how sweet!)

So let's review the packaging.

The small mirror on top which enables you to see the shades is pretty convenient. That way, you wouldn't up purchasing the wrong palette, or a palette that you will not like, and will end up not using. It also comes with a sponge tip applicator.

Well, the trio palette has no fancy name whatsoever. It's straight to the point. :P

Here's a picture with the swatches of the shades without an eye primer.

Boy, these eyeshadows are pretty good! The texture is buttery and it applies and blends like a dream! When applied atop an eye primer, I'm pretty sure that the colors will be bolder and more vibrant.

Here's an EOTD using the NYX eyeshadow trio. Nice pigmentation eh?

To sum up, the eyeshadows' texture and quality can be compared to MAC's. And for those beauties on a budget, instead of buying cheap palettes that may be similar to the price range of NYX eyeshadows and palettes, I suggest go for NYX. Cheap, but definitely outstanding.

I just layered the application because the camera can't catch its true colors. But if you're planning to do something like this, try applying it thinly. :)

So this EOTD is a big experiment with my Stars N' Rockets and MUFE 92. I thought that it would be plain flat and boring. But hey, both made lovely music together. The sheer pay- off of stars n' rockets complimented the flat and pigmented pay- off of mufe :)

HOW TO CREATE THE LOOK

1. APPLY RICEPAPER ALL OVER YOUR LID

2. APPLY CONTRAST ON YOUR OUTER CREASE BRUSHING INSIDE TO CREATE AND ARCH. BLEND UPWARDS, TO YOUR TEAR DUCT AND LEAVE A SPACE ON THE CENTER OF THE LID TO CREATE AN ILLUSION OF DEEP SET EYES.

3. APPLY CARBON ON THE OUTER PART OF YOUR UPPER LASH LINE. BLEND WITH THE CONTRAST A BIT TO CREATE A FALSE LASHES EFFECT

4. APPLY CONTRAST ON YOUR LOWER LASH LINE THEN SMUDGE

5. APPLY MASCARA. LET DRY.

6. APPLY LM CAVIAR EYE LINER ON YOUR UPPER LASH LIN3

7. APPLY EB EYE LINER PENCIL ON OUR BROWS.

8. CURL YOUR LASHES

Hey guys! The world's favorite girl has just turned 50 years old. Yes, we all once hated her when we grew up because we realized that she has everything, she manages to keep her waist small and how she manages to keep her ni**les from showing despite her going commando always. (HAHA).

But we can't deny how much we loved Barbie when we were young. She was our first best friend, our icon, our style sister, and every term you could think of Barbie.

As she turns 50, the world celebrates the number one style icon of our dreams. In my own little way, I dedicate this EOTD to good ol' Barbie Doll. :)

HOW TO CREATE THE LOOK:

1. Apply ricepaper all over your lids

2. Apply trax on the outer lids, blending upwards, until you reach your browbone (the place that you usually high light to make your brows stand out)

3. apply idol eyes on your lower lash line

4. apply the black eye liner on your lower lash line, starting from the outer part to the middle part only

5. apply 3 coats of mascara in the upper lash and 2 coats on the lower lash

6. curl your lashes

I hate it. Camera has washed the lovely colors. :(

RECREATING MAC'S SUGAR SWEET COLLECTION AD LOOK

Hello sisters! Here's my attempt in recreating MAC's  Sugar Sweet Collection. Obviously, the girl's look on the ad will take a huge amount of courage to wear on a daily basis so here's a bit of recreation. It's composed of violet, pink and cream shades to create a milky and ice cream- y flavor on my face. :)

THINGS I USED TO CREATE THE RECREATION LOOK:

MAC FROST EYESHADOW IN RICEPAPER

MAC VELVET EYESHADOW IN TRAX

MAKE UP FOR EVER POWDER BLUSH IN #58

HOW TO CREATE THE LOOK:

1. APPLY MAC E/S IN RICEPAPER ALL OVER THE LID

2. APPLY MUFE P/B #58 ON YOUR CREASE. BLEND.

3. APPLY MAC TRAX ON THE INNER LID AND BLEND ON THE MUFE. APPLY A BIT OF TRAX ON THE UPPER LID.

4. APPLY MAC CARBON E/S ON THE OUTER LID AND BLEND ON THE MUFE P/B

5. APPLY MAC RICEPAPER E/S ON THE INNER TEAR DUCT

6. APPLY MUFE P/B IN #58 ON YOUR LOWER LASH LINE. DOT SOME MAC CARBON E/S ON THE PART OF YOUR LOWER LASH LINE, WHICH IS BELOW THE TIP OF THE V OF YOUR LIDS. BLEND

7. GROOM YOUR BROWS WITH EVER BILENA PENCIL EYELINER

8. APPLY MASCARA OR GEL OR LIQUID EYE LINERS

Here's the look with flash. I honestly don't like using flash in taking pictures because it washes out the colors. This is nicer in person. But I'm left with no choice because it's night time already so it's a lil' dim.

CLOSER LOOK

And this EOTD shows how to tone down and wear a screaming colored e/s like the MUFE powder blush (which I used as an e/s) in # 58 (dark raspberry). I like the violet glow on my eyes. :)

4. APPLY MAC GLAMOUR CHECK! E/S ON THE OUTER CREASE BLEND WITH THE GREEN SMOKE AND INWARDS.

5. HIGH LIGHT THE BROW BONE WITH MAC RICEPAPER E/S.

6. APPLY MAC RICEPAPER E/S ON YOUR TEAR DUCTS

7. DRAW A LINE ON THE OUTER PART TO THE CENTER OF THE LOWER LASH LINE USING EVER BILENA PENCIL EYE LINER IN BLACK

8. APPLY THE FACE SHOP'S GREATIST LIQUID EYELINER IN BLACK ON THE LASH LINE

7. LINE YOUR BROWS WITH A BLACK EYELINER FOR A STRONGER LOOK OR A BROWN EYE LINER FOR A TAMER, SOFTER LOOK.

THIS IS HOW IT WILL LOOK LIKE AFTER YOU DO IT. CARBON E/S WAS SLIGHTLY BLENDED ON THE GREEN SMOKE. I INTENDED TO PUT A DOT ON THE OUTER CREASE TO CREATE A THICK EYELASH EFFECT. IT WAS INTENSIFIED AND MADE NATURAL BY THE BLACK EYELINER ON YOUR LOWER LASH LINE THAT APPEARS TO CONNECT TO IT.

- Apply MAC e/s in Contrast on your lids

- Blend upwards to create an arch

- Line your lower lash line with the MAC e/s in Contrast. Line the outer area only

- Apply TFS Greatist liquid eyeliner

- Apply Chanel Mascara
