Pitti Immagine Bimbo Summer 2010 Kids Trade Show News

The 71st edition of Pitti Bimbo took place June 24-26, 2010 at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence. 539 brands from around the globe exhibited at 8 stages in the world of children's fashion: Pitti Bimbo, Sport Generation, New View, Kids' Design, SuperStreet, EcoEthic, Apartment, and Pop Up Stores.

In addition to the trade show, a few of the Special Events that took place at Pitti Bimbo included...

Fashion Shows - On the Catwalk were Spring/Summer 2010 collections by designers: Miss Blumarine, Sarabanda, Miss Grant, Elsy, Calvin Klein, Fendi, Woolrich and Monnalisa.

WHO IS ON NEXT? - A new competition was launched searching for new talented designers. At the next fair in January, four winners will be announced - one in each of the following categories Baby (0-3 years), Kid (4-8 years), Junior (8-10 years) and Accessories.

Aeronautica Militare Junior Collection at Pitti Immagine Pimbo

Aeronautica Militare Junior offers a unisex mini-adult collection for kids ages 2-14. All garments are custom made with original logos/patches of Italy's Aeronautic Military Force and Acrobatic National Patrol “Frecce Tricolori”.

Polos, t-shirts, nylon bomber jackets, trousers, shirts, leather jackets and motorbike helmets are original from the same items used by the pilots. The result - an original, exciting and symbolic collection that talks about the Aeronautic Military Force’s world.

For 40 years Cristiano di Thiene has produced leather jackets for Aeronautic Military’s pilots and for the Acrobatic National Patrol of Frecce Tricolori (P.A.N.). In 2003 the Company’s management realized that it was the right moment to ask Aeronautic Military Force the authorization to make a clothes collection inspired by them and in 2004 Aeronautica Militare-Collezione Privata (Private Collection) was established.

Replay&Sons Spring/Summer 2011 Collection at Pitti Immagine Bimbo

At Pitti Immagine Bimbo, Replay&Sons launched their Spring Summer 2011 Collection - Dreaming of catching a colorful check butterfly.

The Spring Summer 2011 collection is designed for true free spirits, for joyful, carefree kids who love playing outdoors and are always on the lookout for a new adventure to dive into. Their lively imagination carries them off into fantastic worlds where they can be just what they want to be: boys can whizz around before the crowd on their motorbike or surfboard, in their comfy gear pinched from dad's wardrobe, faded by the sun and the sea air; girls can be little dancers with a bohemian air, stretched out on a colorful picnic cloth creating fabulous pictures, with the explosions of color splashing out onto dresses and tops.

Replay&Sons for Boys

 The leader of his group of friends, by admiration rather than imposition; wily and mischievous, determined to stand out from the crowd. What he loves best is playing out in the open, running free, getting his clothes dirty as he rolls around in the grass and jumps in the puddles left behind by a rainstorm. His clothes are faded by the sunshine, worn and patched up with colorful pieces of fabric. Freedom of movement is essential for kids who daydream of being adventurous explorers, of heroes out to help others.

Strong, striking fabric treatments give a contemporary look to the collection, with the accent on spray and faded t-shirts with macro stripes and tie-dye effects and stone-wash look sponged effects for the polo shirts. The color range boasts a wealth of bright, rainbow colors, especially yellow, red, orange, green and blue. The patterns are based on an animal theme, turning the creatures into oddly cool cartoon characters.


Replay&Sons for Girls
Bright and cheerful like the most colourful of butterflies, the Replay&Sons girl has grown up free to express her personality and play out her dreams, with no limits and non constrictions; rummaging freely among the clothes her mother wore as a girl, tucked away in the attic, she creates delightfully imaginative looks and bold combinations, mixing checks with floral patterns and turning them into bang-up-to-date outfits, with a naïf, fairytale-like approach that has no pretence to mimic or emulate.

Woolrich Kids Clothing at Pitti Immagine Bimbo Trade Show

For the next Woolrich spring-summer kids’ collection, polyglot and international are the keywords, drawing inspiration from an itinerary that touches upon three of the world's largest cities: Tokyo, New York, and Paris.

Visiting Tokyo, the concept of the collection is based on washed linen blends and blatantly oriental fabrics like Indian cotton madras in warm colors; the jackets are inspired by the traditional heritage of the brand name, deriving from the Mountain Jacket and Summer Parka.

Visiting New York, the colous of the United States flag cannot be missed: red, white and blue to underline the strong impact of United States and the brand name.

Upon landing on the old continent, and more precisely in romantic Paris, the collection oozes bon ton for the little girl in dresses, in lightweight poplin, and trench coats, and more formal models for boys with shirts and classic jackets in neutral tones that range from white to all tones of grey, venturing even as far as the new sky grey.

Ermanno Scervino Junior presented their mini-couture at Pitti Immagine Bimbo. The lines applies refined tailoring techniques and uses prized silk fabrics including organza, creponne and muslin. Colors include white, pink, fuchsia and aqua green – with enhanced inserts of Valencia lace, macramé and raw-cut edges.

The new Ermanno Scervino Junior collection adapts elegant women’s wear sophistication to the demands of childhood, with soft A-line volumes, distressed quilting for ultralight outerwear embellished with fringes, ruches and pleating, all inthe bright colors of children’s games.


Ermanno Scervino Junior has come up with a fantasy universe for Spring/Summer 2011,
with lines becoming multicolored in pastel shades of pink, blue and green, turning up in a shower of fuchsias, reappearing in navy style as white & blue or white & fuchsia, with sequin details. Failsafe blue and white polka dots are played out with details in light jersey or raffia, now a trademark trim for the label.

The collection plays with contrasts created by matching romantic, girly garments - in fabrics like cotton-silk, silk creponne, Cupro and tulle – with teenager staples of t-shirts, skirts and jeans.


The 0-2-year baby wear collection reinterprets the mood found in the Junior range with lines and details dedicated to babies. Sarabanda Italy Spring/Summer 2011 Collection on The Catwalk at Pitti Immagine Bimbo

In Sarabanda's new collection, which draws inspiration from different themes, little girls and little boys play the main characters in present and retro settings.

The theme of CINEMA features the little boy who plays the film-maker and chooses British-taste clothes: jackets, cardigans and checkered fabrics; the little girl plays the role of the leading actress who wears stylish garments, plenty of stripes and a touch of bright blue. Red and white are the leading colors, besides blue.

The two children also play stars of the 1960’s, an age revised through the mood of present time. For the little girl and boy, a retro style transferred to nowadays. The little boy wears the typical garments of that age – jackets, cardigans and berets – interpreted in light colors, mainly pale blue and white. The garments for the little girl feature clean lines, with details and graphics typical of the 1960’s, and brought up-to-date through the use of sequins.


JOURNEYS
The two interpreters of the new collection are also tireless travelers who love choosing a wardrobe suitable for any destination. If they leave to visit European capitals, they will choose clothes which are comfortable, casual and glamor at the same time. He likes best denim, as well as green and blue combined with white. She chooses garments featuring particular graphics, denim, shirts and leggings suitable for traveling, which are fashionable as well, designed to walk in the streets of cities such as Paris or London.

If Caribbean Islands are the destination, the mood is strongly affected by the music and the brightness of a Caribbean city. Unquestionably summer garments, flower patterns, straw hats both for the little boy and the little girl. The colors for the little boy are warm and strong: red, orange, reddish purple, beige and black. The colors for the little girl are paler – pink, light green and denim, featuring flowers and butterflies typical of these sunny and warm places.

…and only for the little girl, a wardrobe inspired from COLONIAL mood, based on light fabrics such as linen, flowers in a white setting, a hint of beige for dresses and trousers with smart waistcoats. A mood of colonial age and of large South American colonial estates.
