Here's an initial review on KIEHL'S ULTRA FACIAL MOISTURIZER

THE VERDICT:

After I emptied my Mixed Berries toner, I went to Kiehl's to get another but ended up purchasing this. Since I'm using Ultra Facial Moisturizer, which is my HG, I decided to get the toner from the Ultra Facial Line.

The SA, again told me that this wouldn't suit oily skinned people but whadda heck, it says FOR ALL SKIN TYPES so I'm no exception. I didn't listen to the SA and still went for this. Besides, an SA also told me, when I purchased the Ultra Facial Moisturizer, that it wouldn't help my oily skin become better. Well, it worked completely fine. It didn't contribute to the oiliness of my face at all. It made it more smooth, soft, supple, and healthier- looking.

Anyway, this is an unscented toner, which I like. Perfumes are quite harsh for the face because of alcohol. The color of the toner is white, because it also has some sort of liquid moisturizer in it. So you can see that the water and the moisturizer separates in the bottle if you don't touch or shake the bottle, just like those old school Bench perfumes with oils in it, which they claim would make perfume last longer. (ever had those?)

So this is quickly absorbed by the skin. Never experienced stings, breakouts or any allergies with it. I love that it makes my feel look and feel refreshed after every usage!

Of course, I will buy this again, along with the Ultra Facial Moisturizer. Definitely an HG material! The Beauty Junkee recommends that you try it too! :)

THE VERDICT:

Okay, so this review is 2 weeks late already. It just slipped out of my mind, sorry for that, but at least that's more time for me to gauge how good or bad this product is.

Okay, So the consistency of this moisturizer is a semi- creamy liquid moisturizer. It is absorbed easily by the skin and a little goes a long way, thanks to it's consistency that covers a good amount of facial skin when it is spread evenly. 

I remember the SA in Kiehl's telling me that this ain't a recommended product for people with oily to combination skin because it has oil extracts that can contribute to a more oily facial skin surface.

Well, I've been using an oil- controlling facial cleanser and toner, both from Kiehl's as well, and I have gauged that these two battle my oiliness so I didn't worry too much about what the SA told me. Besides, it's in the FOR ALL SKIN TYPES category so this can be used by people with normal to hypersensitive skin. 

After 3 weeks of usage, I have noticed that my skin has become more supple, and it looks healthier on the outside, with a "lit from within glow". I just love that my facial skin has become more radiant. Another important thing, I didn't get breakouts from the Kiehl's line.

I've mentioned before that this moisturizer is the HG moisturizer of Mary Kate Olsen. Well, I see how her skin is optimally hydrated and nourished, based on her pictures. Maybe because of the moisturizer and some other facial stuff. But I can also see that my face has that healthy sheen (take note, not SHINE) right after application because it is absorbed easily and fast by the skin. It's not oily looking, as compared to other moisturizers that takes forever to dry and contributes somehow to the oiliness of my skin. 

Overall, I'm loving this product, no regrets though it really is costly, but I'm sure the big bottle will last me long because a pea- sized amount can already cover my entire face!

PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT: FOLLOW- UP REVIEW ON MY KIEHL'S PURCHASES

Here are my follow- up reviews on my KIEHL'S PURCHASES LAST WEEK.

KIEHL'S NON- DETERGENT FOAMING FACIAL WASH

- This baby is unscented, so that means less chemicals. A pea- sized amount is good enough for lathering. It doesn't foam as much as regular facial washes. The foaming lather is what the Kiehl's attendants referred to as "Detergent Ingredients". It's not clothes detergent, but a type of detergent that makes soaps and facial washes create more suds, which can lead to further drying of the skin because of the strong chemicals.

This is specifically made to remove excess oil on my face and control it. It doesn't promise to eradicate all the existing oil on my face because if it does, it can lead to dry, flaky and itchy skin. The excess oil that clogs the pores is what it removes. And for the whole day, I feel less- oily and my face feels fresher everyday since the day I used this.

KIEHL'S HERBAL TONER WITH MIXED BERRIES AND BOTANICAL EXTRACTS

- Well, this product made me laugh a bit because it's like "Your Period In A Bottle". Those are the mixed berries lingering inside this bottle that disappears on your skin because it melts through the swiping motion. It's not stingy and is unscented. It also makes my face feel fresh. 

This, along with the cleanser helped battle my excess face oil.

This is recommended for normal-oily skin types.

KIEHL'S SUPERBLY RESTORATIVE BODY LOTION

- This lotion is thick, yet lightweight and it disappears on your skin as a sheer sheet of moisture. It doesn't feel hot on the skin at all. And when you sweat, it doesn't form a gunky film on your skin, which is the case with some lotions that I've encountered.

It's easily absorbed by the skin and leaves your skin moisturized the whole day.

The Moroccan Argan oil serves as the base scent for this lotion. It smells good, and is not overpowering. In fact, the scent evaporates after a few minutes. It's good because it won't clash with the perfume/ cologne you're currently wearing.

I've also noticed that my skin is softer after a week of use. I have dry spots on my skin and a little amount of this removes the dryness, keeps the dry spots soft, and the softness and suppleness lasts the whole day. 

That's it for my Kiehl's purchases! They're really expensive but they're all worth the money. Trust me, Kiehl's is such an amazing and effective product so I'll prolly save up for these stuff once again. I'm planning to try their Yerba Mate or Blue line as well. :D

ON THE BOTTLE: This moisturizer is readily absorbed into the skin, leaving the surface area soft and nurtured. The moisturizing effects of this formulation are continued beneath the surface layers. Use daytime or anytime for moisturizing and texturizing of the skin.

THE VERDICT:

I still have no proper verdict for this one. I'm gonna road test this for a week and i'll let you know of the results.

It's a white- colored cream moisturizer. the consistency is semi- thick so a little goes a long way. Right after application, skin feels moisturized and fresh. Once it dries, your face will look dewy and the texture is soft and smooth.

Promising. :D

FYI: THIS IS MARY KATE OLSEN'S HG MOISTURIZER BRAND. NO WONDER, HER SKIN LOOKS VERY DEWY. IT CAN BE THE REASON BEHIND IT. SHE'S ALSO A KIEHL'S FAN. MAYBE MY PROLONGED USE WILL TURN MY FACE HOLLYWOOD- WORTHY. HAHAHA. :D

THE VERDICT:

I still don't have a proper verdict for this one because I'm planning to use my Kiehl's purchases for a week so I could check and see if there has been any significant difference.

The consistency of this lotion is semi- whipped and rich, so you'll have a luxurious experience putting lotion on your skin. This also smells good, because of the Argan Oil, which is herbal- ish smelling. 

Right after application, I could feel that my skin is instantly quenched. After the lotion has been completely absorbed by the skin, you'll feel that the elasticity is improved and your skin is healthy and a bit glowing for the whole day. The scent also evaporates so you don't have to worry about it clashing with any scent you are wearing. 

So far, I'm loving this. I'll update you at the end of the week regarding my Kiehl's purchases. :D

THE VERDICT:

I will post a follow up entry on this one after a week along with the Kiehl's cleanser and lotion that I bought.

As of the moment, I'm loving that this toner is alcohol- free, so it doesn't sting my face and I also like the little berry particles inside the bottle that pours right of the tube to the cotton ball that aids in effectively healing and toning the skin.

It smells Herbal- ish in the bottle. It doesn't smell funny or anything. In fact, when applied on skin, it doesn't have any fragrance at all. Plus, you're face feels refreshed afterwards. This, along with my cleanser helped battle and remove the excess oil on my face and kept it shine- free for almost 45 minutes.

Hmmm.. Promising. :D

PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT: KIEHL'S FOAMING NON- DETERGENT WASHABLE CLEANSER

THE VERDICT:

I still have no verdict for this product because I'm planning to test this for a week. I'll post a follow up entry for this one to let you guys know how it's working on my skin.

ON THE BOTTLE: For a combination or oily skin type; Suitable for combination or oily skin. This lathering cleanser is formulated to remove excess oil and dirt effectively from the skin's surface.

Okay, our skin naturally produces oil, but for oily and combination skinned people like me, our skin produces oil excessively so the best thing this cleanser can do is to remove the excess oil on the surface and slightly regulate the skin's oil production.

It's a semi- foaming wash. It's non- comedogenic and fragrance- free, which makes it good for people with sensitive skin.

It's kinda' expensive but a lot swear by Kiehl's wonder products so I decided to give their skin care line a try.

It was kinda' a surprise to know that Andy Warhol, pop- art protege, swears by their line for Oily skin. Omg, my idol and I both have combination to oily skin! And we're using the same product! Yay! :D

I used this to clean my face tonight and so far, I'm lovin' it. After drying my face, it looked matte and fresh. It also felt smooth and supple. I also noticed that after 30 minutes, my skin still feels and looks matte, as compared to my Ponds Perfect Matte Facial Scrub, which makes my face a bit shiny in less than 15 minutes.

So far, this product has promise. I'll get back to you guys on this after a week! :D

PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT: KIEHL'S LIPBALM WITH SPF15 IN HUE NO. 30G

For this edition, let's look at Kiehl's lipbalm.

It won so many awards including Marie Claire's BEST LIPBALM AWARD and Allure's BEST PRODUCTS OF THE YEAR award. It's used by different celebrities in Hollywood and has been a favorite of some of our local stars.

The first time Kiehl's opened around 2007 or 2008, I purchased one. My mom also has hers plus the clear variant that comes with a black cap.

THE VERDICT:

Retails at around 900php+. This lipbalm acts as a lipgloss because it's shiny as well. According to Kiehl's's SA when I bought this, the purpose of the shiny consistency is for the balm to be absorbed by the lips. After an hour or so, your lips will feel silky smooth and won't looked chapped after a month of usage. At first use, it's glossy, moisturizing and you'll see a tinge of red hue on your lips, which looks pretty.

The only downside of this is the smell. I don't really like it. It's like, the smell is torn between smelling good and smelling like medicine.

But trust me, your lips won't chap after a month of using it. I stopped because I became fond of wearing lipsticks as of the moment.

A friend even tried buying this off my make- up stash but I told her I'm lovin, it so I won't sell it.

Try this. It's much better than Chapstick or the drying Born Lippy by The Body Shop.

THE LIPSTICK ISSUE

Hi ladies! How's everyone? I am so bored today so I decided to show you my lipstick collection. All in all, I have 10 lipsticks, 7 from mac, 1 each from dior, the face shop and make up for ever. I also featured here 2 of my lipglosses 1 lustreglass and 1 lipglass from mac and a kiehl's tinted lipbalm.

MAC SATIN LIPSTICK IN SPIRIT

- A lush lipstick that's sure to keep your pucker moisturized. It's a pretty mocha brown shade, that may appear nude to some but in actual, it's brown. :)

DIOR ADDICT LIPSTICK IN ROSE SCENARIO
-Nude metallic l/s infused with gold pearls and light reflectors for that outrageous shine. Feels light on the lips, smells good. The perfect metallic l/s since I really don't like metallic variants so this one's really the cream of the crop!

KIEHL'S TINTED LIPBALM WITH SPF 15
- The rave of magazines as the best lipbalm. Well, it really is. Smells good and you'll love the tinge of red on your lips though staying power is not really good. You'll love the shine!

MAC LIPGLASS IN PINK POODLE
-A nice buildable pink l/g with specks of gold shimmer for that ultimate shine. color pay- off is good, staying power is relatively good as well.

MAC LUSTREGLASS IN BEAUX
-A good nude l/g. Has staying power and the shine is impressive. MAC promised that this will transcend any known shine. Well, it did. :)

MAKE UP FOR EVER LACQUERED LIPSTICK IN 203 (ORANGE FLUO PINK)
-A neon pink l/s with excellent color pay- off and staying power. An instant glam giver on any dull face. Smells good. Though pricey, this'll give you a run for your money!

MAC'S MATTE LIPSTICK IN RUSSIAN RED
-My ultimate favorite. Intense red l/s with blue undertones. This is my perfect red l/s!

MAC MATTE LIPSTICK IN DIVA
-My personal fave! Deep red lipstick with a black undertone. Perfect for that vintage look!

THE FACE SHOP/S COLOR CARE MATTE LIPSTICK IN 301
- A semi- dupe for MAC's Russian Red. This line boasts of divine smelling l/s's with great color pay- offs and gorgeous colors in matte and metallic variants.

MAC MATTE LIPSTICK IN MARRAKESH
-My first- ever MAC baby. Terracotta l/s.

MAC SATIN LIPSTICK IN PROFUSION
- A barbie pink color. The color looks like a very girly pink.

MAC SATIN LIPSTICK IN TWIG
- A classic fave. It's a chocolatey color with rose undertones. A mauve- ish looking l/s.

MAC SATIN LIPSTICK IN MALT
- A gorgeous nude l/s. Appears as a nude semi- peach l/s. Looks fabulous with clear lipgloss!

MAC'S LUSTRE LIPSTICK IN TOUCH
-Described as a peachy cinnamon color in MAC'S site but it appears as a shiny chocolate brown colored l/s

WHAT'S IN YOUR EVERYDAY MAKE- UP KIT?

If there's one invention in this world that i'm really thankful of, it's MAKE- UP.

I love the different colors and how it instantly adds drama to your face.

I'm also a theatre actress so make- up is a vital part in my life. MAC is my ultimate favorite.
