Here's an initial review on REVLON COLORSTAY CRAYON PENCIL EYELINER (BLACK)

THE VERDICT:

I've been on a search for an HG eyeliner. MUFE's Aqua Eyes didn't quite do the trick for me so I got rid of it before even sharpening it. And a good friend of mine had this item in her make- up kit and decided to try it during one of the evening theatre performances

And right then and there, I have found my HG eyeliner.

It comes in a retractable type of packaging which is convenient because I don't have to worry about forgetting my brow sharpeners and disposing the eyebrow pencil shavings.

So the main reason why this has become my HG is its ability to withstand water (aka tears) from my eyes during a show. It just sticked like a slim black tape on my lids without running at all! After a crying scene, the eyeliner that I was using before smudges like crazy on my cheeks, which is absolutely a funny thing to look at. And I can terribly feel for the actress whose concentration is disturbed because she sees my cheeks with eyeliner smudges, which is downright hilarious.

As for everyday, this can pretty much hold up. But warning for people with oily lids (like me). This has the tendency to smudge (just a bit). If you put an eye primer before applying this, this can hold up better but still, there'll be smudges.

I'm not fond of wearing eyeliners on a daily basis. I just need this for professional engagements so I say that this really does the trick!

So it's up to you to try this or not. But as far as I'm concerned, I've finally found my HG eyeliner. :)

And of course, I will definitely repurchase. :)

THE DUPERY: DUPES FOR YOUR FAVORITE EXPENSIVE PRODUCTS 4

For this edition of THE DUPERY, Let's look at a dupe for MAC MATTE LIPSTICK IN RUSSIAN RED

It was given to me by a lovely blogger named Dinna, aka max97. I don't know if it's appreciation for my entries or whatsoever but one thing's for sure, this gift made me really happy!

MAC's matte lipstick in Russian Red is an all- time favorite red lipstick. It is a bright red lipstick because of it's blue undertone, making your face look really fresh and pretty once you wear it. 

Since MAC is getting nowhere near cheap because they're starting to hike up their prices, I've found a pretty good dupe for it in REVLON ALL- DAY MATTE LIPSTICK IN REALLY RED (006)

Revlon's all- day matte lipstick in Really Red pays- off as a gorgeous red lipstick. What surprised me the most is, it's almost the same color as my Russian Red. 

One thing you're gonna hate about Matte lipsticks is how it dries up your lips. MAC is guilty of this. I can't blame the formula. If it's not as matte as it is, it wouldn't look damn good on the lips. 

Revlon's matte formula is sort- of creamy, so this is non- drying. I've road- tested this last night and it didn't dry my lips at all. As compared to the lipstick of formulas of MAC, this lipstick can be classified in the Satin variants because of the creaminess of the consistency. But nevertheless, it looks matte on the lips! And it has good staying power too!

Sorry, It seemed that my editing darkened the MAC lipstick a bit but in actual, the two are almost alike, so therefore, MAC Russian Red is duped!

I just recently sold my MAC PURPLE RITE LIPSTICK AND MAC LUSTRE EYESHADOW IN GREENSMOKE. I actually don't have any use for the two so instead of leaving them to rot in my make- up kit, I decided to sell these. 

Max97, who is Dinna in real life is an avid visitor of my blog, bought the two items at a discounted price of 1300php. I included freebies namely everyday minerals mineral foundation sample in light, kiehl's yerba mate tea lotion sample, kiehl's superbly restorative body lotion sample in a jar and kanebo fair white uv sunblock cream sample. 

We decided to meet in Palma Hall UP Diliman because I had to watch a theatre play. She was so kind to meet me there because it's so convenient for me.

To my surprise, she handed me a brand new Revlon All- Matte lipstick in Really Red. Honestly, I was REALLY surprised because I've never experienced such a thing in my life. Receiving a lovely gift from a total stranger. 

She said she just wanted to give me the lipstick because she was never a red lipstick wearer (yun ba sinabi nya? haha). It was such a surprise because she bought items from me, then she handed me a gift when in fact I should've included more freebies in her package for purchasing my stuff.

Right after the play, I wore the lipstick because it was Gala Night so there's dinner right after. It's such a lovely color, take a look at me wearing the lipstick: :D

It's a lovely shade right? It's actually a  dupe for MAC's Russian Red lipstick! I'll create the entry in a while :D
