PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT: THE FACE SHOP FELT TIP LIQUID LINER PEN (BLACK)

Here's an initial review on THE FACE SHOP FELT TIP LIQUID LINER PEN (BLACK)

PRICE: 395PHP (?)
PLACE BOUGHT: THE FACE SHOP BOUTIQUE, POWERPLANT MALL, ROCKWELL, MAKATI CITY
OTHER LOCATIONS: ALL THE FACE SHOP BOUTIQUES NATIONWIDE

THE VERDICT:

Okay so I've been lemming for a liquid eyeliner because it gives off a more vibrant finish as opposed to other liner forms.

I got this from The Face Shop. I've been wanting to get MAC's penultimate liner and got this instead because it's cheaper and I could pretty much gauge that this does the same thing as well. As you all know, I would never splurge on eyeliners. My latest and last splurge was MUFE's AquaEyes. After that, nothing followed.

So this pen makes liquid eyelining a breeze. It's easy and it gives off a controlled amount of the ink. And best part, it's so compact, it could even fit in your tightest jeans!

See what I mean by vibrant finish? Liquid eyeliners give a nice vibrant and glossy finish. But the quality didn't impress me.

First, it smudges like crazy. I have oily lids to I'm practically off to raccoon eyes land whenever I'm wearing with this one. I've tried using this in one of my plays and when I cried in a scene, it smudged like crazy and it dripped inside my eyes. YEAOUCH! It's so painful, as in stinging painful. After that incident, I sold it off.

It could've been love, ya know? The packaging, convenience and color pay- off, but the staying power wasn't really considered in making this one so you get the drift if I'm buying this or not.

PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT: THE FACE SHOP CHARCOAL FINE CLEANSING FOAM

Here’s an initial verdict on THE FACE SHOP CHARCOAL FINE CLEANSING FOAM

 PRICE: 500- 550PHP

PLACE BOUGHT: THE FACE SHOP, POWERPLANT MALL, ROCKWELL, MAKATI CITY

OTHER LOCATIONS: MALLS NATIONWIDE

THE VERDICT:

After a month of using this, here’s what I can finally say about this product.

I’ve grabbed this in lieu of my Kiehl’s facial wash, which is my HG. But since Kiehl’s is too expensive, I decided to embark on a search for a cleanser for oily skinned people like me.

So this fine cleansing foam targets oily skin. The consistency of the cleansing foam is like whipped silk. It’s very lush, soft and velvet- y. And it also lathers up to a generous amount, which I like. It gives me this sense of feeling clean. Also, the lather is so fine and smooth, you’ll enjoy washing your face. It has this clean and light floral scent that is definitely not overpowering. It’s a pretty big tube and a little goes a long so you’ll pretty much use this for quite a long time.

After washing my face, it instantly feels clean. A bit squeaky, but not dry. For me, the squeaky clean feeling is the sign that a good amount of facial oil was removed. But I am not sure how this works in keeping oil at bay during the day because I use a primer underneath make- up.

It’s still pretty expensive for me so I’m still on another search for a good facial wash. So far, I haven’t experienced any breakouts from this cleanser. I’m still testing Etude. If Etude does not do me good, I’ll prolly stick with this facial foam.

PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT: LOOKING FOR A CHEAP HOT PINK LIPSTICK?

Bold hot pink lips will never go out of style, just as much red lipsticks are timeless. Top it with gloss for a flirty fun look, sans the strong and overpowering bold aura of red lipsticks, then wear it matte for a fun vintage spice on your make- up.

Fuschia or "true" hot pink lipsticks can be found in expensive brands such as make- up forever and mac. Due to recession, our instincts and wallet instructs us to go out and be on the look out for cheap yet effective products.

Here's my initial review on THE FACE SHOP'S COLOR SHINE ROUGE LIPSTICK IN 203

PRICE: 490PHP+

PLACE BOUGHT: THE FACE SHOP, THE FORT HIGH STREET, FORT BONIFACIO, TAGUIG CITY

OTHER LOCATIONS: ALL THE FACE SHOP OUTLETS NATIONWIDE

THE VERDICT:

The reason why I bought this is because of the unique pink- orange combination that gave birth to a lovely hot pink lipstick. It has a creamy consistency that makes it glide well on the lips and it is packed with moisturizers and shine to keep your puckers slick and moisturized all throughout the day. Plus, it has shine so our lips will look delectable and juicy the whole day.

It comes in a sophisticated square tube colored in brown and gold. And for less than 500php, you'll get a pretty good deal with this lipstick.

Overall, it's pink, but the orange undertone intensified the color, making it look as if it's a fuschia colored lipstick. Some might find this a bit orange- y, depending on the skin tone. But nevertheless, the hot pink color is very evident in fair skinned ladies while it's a lovely strong pink with an orange glow for morena ladies. Either you're fair or dark skinned, it still goes off as a lovely hot pink lipstick!

The staying power is relatively good, because when I use this, it stands for around an hour or two. But if you use your mouth a lot, chances are, you could wipe it off your lips.

So think twice before spending a fortune on make- up for ever or mac. If you would like to save, you better make a stop in The Face Shop and Check this baby out yourself.

MY HUMBLE NAIL POLISH COLLECTION

I really don't have tons of Nail Polishes. I'd rather just go to a salon and get a pedicure and get me my shade of choice. What I hate about buying nail polishes is that I don't get to use everything so much so they end up hard and sticky in the long run. The reason why I bought some of the polishes in my collection is that I find the colors cute. But I'm no nail polish afficionado.

I was actually planning to get my hands on some Orly, Opi, China Glaze or Essie but I'm afraid these would only go to waste because It's not that I change my polish every single day. But lately, I've been stumbling on Nail Polish blogs and I'm lemming now for some imported nail polishes.

So here's my small and humble nail polish collection. Take note that these polishes are with me since time immemorial.

MY SKIN FOOD COLLECTION

L-R: NAIL VITA POLISHES OR306, RE101, VL405; PEDICURE VITA POLISH 05

*That's it for my nail polish collection. How about you guys? Do you collect nail polishes?

THE LIPSTICK ISSUE

Hi ladies! How's everyone? I am so bored today so I decided to show you my lipstick collection. All in all, I have 10 lipsticks, 7 from mac, 1 each from dior, the face shop and make up for ever. I also featured here 2 of my lipglosses 1 lustreglass and 1 lipglass from mac and a kiehl's tinted lipbalm.

Here's my gorgeous collection. Any questions regarding the color will be entertained so feel free to ask or simply comment! :)

MAC SATIN LIPSTICK IN SPIRIT
- A lush lipstick that's sure to keep your pucker moisturized. It's a pretty mocha brown shade, that may appear nude to some but in actual, it's brown. :)

DIOR ADDICT LIPSTICK IN ROSE SCENARIO
-Nude metallic l/s infused with gold pearls and light reflectors for that outrageous shine. Feels light on the lips, smells good. The perfect metallic l/s since I really don't like metallic variants so this one's really the cream of the crop!

KIEHL'S TINTED LIPBALM WITH SPF 15
- The rave of magazines as the best lipbalm. Well, it really is. Smells good and you'll love the tinge of red on your lips though staying power is not really good. You'll love the shine!

MAC LIPGLASS IN PINK POODLE
-A nice buildable pink l/g with specks of gold shimmer for that ultimate shine. color pay- off is good, staying power is relatively good as well.

MAC LUSTREGLASS IN BEAUX
-A good nude l/g. Has staying power and the shine is impressive. MAC promised that this will transcend any known shine. Well, it did. :)

MAKE UP FOR EVER LACQUERED LIPSTICK IN 203 (ORANGE FLUO PINK)
-A neon pink l/s with excellent color pay- off and staying power. An instant glam giver on any dull face. Smells good. Though pricey, this'll give you a run for your money!

MAC'S MATTE LIPSTICK IN RUSSIAN RED
-My ultimate favorite. Intense red l/s with blue undertones. This is my perfect red l/s!

MAC MATTE LIPSTICK IN DIVA
-My personal fave! Deep red lipstick with a black undertone. Perfect for that vintage look!

THE FACE SHOP/S COLOR CARE MATTE LIPSTICK IN 301
- A semi- dupe for MAC's Russian Red. This line boasts of divine smelling l/s's with great color pay- offs and gorgeous colors in matte and metallic variants.

MAC MATTE LIPSTICK IN MARRAKESH
-My first- ever MAC baby. Terracotta l/s.

MAC SATIN LIPSTICK IN PROFUSION
- A barbie pink color. The color looks like a very girly pink.

MAC SATIN LIPSTICK IN TWIG
- A classic fave. It's a chocolatey color with rose undertones. A mauve- ish looking l/s.

MAC SATIN LIPSTICK IN MALT
- A gorgeous nude l/s. Appears as a nude semi- peach l/s. Looks fabulous with clear lipgloss!

MAC'S LUSTRE LIPSTICK IN TOUCH
-Described as a peachy cinnamon color in MAC'S site but it appears as a shiny chocolate brown colored l/s

SPEND VS. SAVE: NUDE LIPGLOSSES

Nude lips look divine on fair ladies and looks hot on morena ladies. It's the ultimate versatile lip color that does wonders in toning down a look with dramatic eyeshadows to polishing a natural looking make- up.

Let's look at nude lips for this spend vs. save issue.

MAC LUSTREGLASS IN BEAUX

THE FACE SHOP SUPER SHINE LIPGLOSS NUDE

THE FACE SHOP: Costs around 300php+; The face shop has nice lipglosses. When I was a newbie in beauty, I grabbed this super shine gloss because I've always loved how Mandy Moore's lips in her music video "Cry" looked fantastic. I've searched and tried so many brands to create the look on me and this lipgloss did the job. It's lightweight, but a bit semi- sticky (hey, it's lipgloss) and it's cheap! The color pay-off is good because it transforms your lips into a nude beauty.

MAC: It's around 700php+; Beaux appears as a brown glittered lipgloss in a tube but glides on as a nude lipgloss with gold flecks. And the shine? Absolutely fabulous. MAC promised that the lustreglass will transcend all known shine and literally, this tube did. Lasting power is okay. The consistency is gel- like so unlike cream lipsticks, this would probably last not long enough as compared to lipsticks. But evertheless, it's gorgeous, smells like vanilla and the it doesn't feel heavy on the lips at all.

The Face Shop's lip products are quite good, i must say. The super shine gloss looks gorgeous on any nude lipstick as well. It adds lustre and enhances the nude lip look more. MAC ain't bad, but The Face Shop also gets the job done!

SPEND VS. SAVE: RED LIPSTICKS

The red lipstick is said to be one of the most essential make- up products in a woman's stash. It is a symbol of sophistication and class, and at the same time, it evokes power and sexiness, a true staple of a woman.

It comes in many shades. Bordeaux, fire engine, rose, etc. Whatever shade, the red lipstick will always have an appeal on different women and effect on people.

I'm a fan of the red lipstick. I love how it brightens any face and how it creates an aura of mystery because of the alluring color. Whenever I see myself with a red lipstick on, I feel sexy, wise, vibrant and good. It's such a wonderful color.

I'm always in the search of the perfect red lipstick. i tried Nars, Philosophy, Guerlain, Estee Lauder but I found my perfect red lipstick in MAC. I am such a fan of MAC's Russian Red for years now. It's an intense matte red with a bluish undertone. It's 900php in our local MAC stores.

Since times are getting hard and MAC's not going anywhere near cheap, I went on for a search of an alternative red lipstick. And besides, Russian Red is always unavailable in the MAC outlets.

MAC'S Matte Lipstick in Russian Red

THE FACE SHOP'S COLOR CARE LIPSTICK IN 301

I went to The Face Shop store in Eastwood City and came across their lipstick counter. Then I came across the Color Care line. It's their lipstick with those shiny peach case with a bluish shine. Then I found myself the lipstick shade in 301. It's lovely and great! MAC's Russian Red will always have a special place in my heart but I have found a new baby red lippie! It's matte, glides on smoothly, non- drying and smells good. It reminds of the smell of a spa. I swiped the color on my lips and the color pay- off was good. The color was stunning. It's a red lipstick with brown and violet undertones. And the best part is, it's 400php+ only! I tried visiting other TFS stores but unfortunately, I can't find the shade. Maybe it was luck or I was just destined to find this very good lipstick.

It pays off to buy good quality make- up but you can really find rare stuff that are good and at rock bottom prices. 400php+ might be pricey though, but this TFS lippie is so good, it's worth 700 bucks! MAC's Russian Red is still the shade to beat for me but TFS's Color Care lipstick in 301 is the product to beat when it comes to cheap but good lipsticks.

FOR THIS ISSUE, I SUGGEST YOU: SAVE
