Esencia, the Danish company owned by Erica Pederesen and Yoko Meinertz, has launched its pure and natural Spring/Summer 2011 collection for children from newborns to 8-year-olds - exquisite designs in 100% organic fabrics for both girls and boys.
This exclusive collection offers high-gauged tops and cardigans in natural earth tones made of 100% organic cotton, 100% natural fiber from llama wool, or 30% silk 70% natural fiber from llama wool.
There are dresses, skirts and pants made of the highest quality of 100% organic cotton with a little embroidery by hand. Every piece is ethically produced in their Bolivian and Peruvian workshops in the Andes, featuring the superb tailoring quality that has become their trademark.
Esencia was founded in 2006 by Erica Pedersen of Bolivia and Yoko Meinertz of Japan. With two different backgrounds, the two share the same objective to produce high quality natural products for children with simple designs, making use of the craftsmanship of indigenous women/artisans from the Andes region. The key concept is coexistence and sustainability.
Esencia is a combination of the best of two cultures. Bolivia and Peru’s long tradition of high quality textiles, along with Japanese integrity of design, resulting in a unique brand intended to inspire modern people aware of natural and simple living. The increasing awareness towards high quality natural products and the social responsibility is what strengthens our belief in their approach.
Esencia only collaborates together with organizations and producers, who work under a fair trade principle.
