New Fall/Winter 2010 Oeuf Children's Collection Changes Lives in Bolivia

Ouef New York is launching its fall/winter 2010 collection of beautifully hand-knit children's clothes, which is their 6th collection produced in Bolivia by self-managed communities of indigenous people.

Oeuf started working in Bolivia in 2004 where their knits were produced by 4 artisans. With Oeuf's growing success, the collection now supports 190 (almost all female) knitters. In line with fair trade principles, Oeuf pays its artisans a living wage which enables them to afford health care and education for their children. Oeuf's collection is made from 100% alpaca wool, providing much needed income for local farmers as well as showcasing a renewable and luxurious natural material.

"Visiting our partners in Bolivia, we have seen the incredible difference Oeuf has made to people's lives," said Sophie Demenge, designer and co-founder of Oeuf. "Working in Bolivia has given us the ability to make beautiful products which kids love because they are fun and soft to the touch and parents adore because they are stylish and support communities in less developed parts of the world."

Since 2003, Oeuf has been known for its modern take on nursery furniture and handknit clothes and accessories. Oeuf (which means "egg" in French) is about simple, clean design without compromising on quality, safety and environmental/social impact.

ilovegorgeous Launches Fall/Winter 2010 Collection

For AW10 ilovegorgeous has gone all out - sumptuous silk velvet, gauzy silk and peacock feather print chiffon party dresses with sparkly trim sit next to beautiful floral sprig day dresses with cozy linings and fabulous swirly net skirts.

New this year will be gorgeous coats for parties in soft blue wool with gold trim and for everyday shaggy fur collars, as well as cashmere dresses in delicious colors with matching hat, scarf and gloves.

Designed by Lucy Enfield and Sophie Worthington, Ilovegorgeous launched as a wholesale children’s wear collection in September 2007.

Designing exclusively for girls aged from 6 months to 15 years, their first collection was snapped up by London department store Selfridges as well as a host of boutiques and children’s wear shops across the UK.

Since then ilovegorgeous has expanded its wholesale reach to the USA, France and can be found in many prestigious locations including Le Bon Marche in Paris, Barneys NYC, Fenwicks and Harvey Nichols, London and Harvey Nichols, Saudi Arabia.

In December 2008 ilovegorgeous opened their flagship shop in Notting Hill and in February 2009 the
website became ecommerce.

Geneva Based Cuter&Cuter Recycles Daddy´s Shirt!

Cuter&Cuter introduces a unique concept in designer children’s wear, recycling Daddy’s old shirt or a beloved vintage wedding gown into a new heritage dress for his little girl.

Based in Geneva, Cuter&Cuter makes girl’s dresses (age 3 months to 6 years) out of Daddy’s old shirt. The concept also includes flower girl dresses and christening gowns, the latter made out of a vintage wedding gown.

Co-Founder Malin Wallenberg explains, "As a little girl I used my father’s shirt as a security blanket and a reminder of him. Nearly forty years later I can still feel his presence when I think of that shirt. The white one with tiny blue bicycles on it. The comfort of my fathers shirt is still in my heart."

As children we all used daddy’s shirt as a comforter and that gave us our original idea for Cuter&Cuter! The dress is a one off and handmade in Switzerland, embellished with crystals, embroidery and other surface decoration.

LamanBlu Releases its Spring/Summer 2011 Collection - A New Floral Still Life

LamanBlu's new collection "A New Floral Still Life" is designed to be lived in, laughed in and played in. Its clean silhouettes and floral detailing are flattering, fun and pretty.

Inspired by flowers plucked from their natural surroundings and positioned into a new palette, this collection brings spring into a child’s wardrobe.

The collection features bright, colorful garments that reflect on the fun and free spirit of children. The color palette for this season is full of saturated brights, including Pink Flambe, Blazing Yellow, Violetto and Bright Chartreuse all balanced by Bright White, Gossamer Pink and Estate Blu. For prints, the offering includes custom designed photo orchid ditsy prints and crayon stripes on a fine cotton shirting.

LamanBlu is the vision of designer Holli Gibson. Gibson established her career as a designer in Dallas the 90's, designing sportswear and dresses for many high profile private clients as well as major high end retailers, including Nordstrom's and Victoria's Secret. After a taking a time with family and friends, and relocating to the Rocky Mountains, she has re-entered the fashion world, this time with her focus on children. She is the recipient of the 2009 Rising Star Award from Fashion Group International.

But as the ol' saying goes: 'tis better late than never! :)

I have tried a dozen concealers in the course of my addiction but these are the five concealer brands that will always come in mind whenever I think of a great concealer.

Without further adieu, let me tell you why I am in love with these concealers :)

KRYOLAN SUPRACOLOR FOUNDATION IN FAIR OLIVE

I love how it neutralizes my dark spots and dark circles. I also love the fact that it's a great base make- up before foundation because it gives the skin a nice glow from underneath. The yellow/cream color makes this a one-of-a-kind shade. It is a great neutralizer that doesn't look too yellow, and a great concealer that doesn't look too white. It also dries to a semi- matte finish. Definitely my best bet for professional use.

MAC STUDIO FINISH CONCEALER W/ SPF35

Concealers with SPF are quite rare. And this makes Studio Finish a winner. It protects the thin skin on our under eyes from the damaging rays of the sun. This is long lasting, durable, and it will last you longer than you can imagine.

MAC CHROMAGRAPHIC PENCIL

The best concealer innovation ever made. It's convenient for hard to reach areas on the face. Plus, it lasts long, and it can also double as an eye brightener!

MAKE UP FOR EVER LIFT CONCEALER

It's water- resistant, which makes it perfect for humid countries and conditions. Consistency is liquid, so it settles and spreads easily. The shades adjust to your tone. And it helps brighten the under eyes, giving your eyes a "lift".
