So here's a bit of an update on my paul and joe foundation.
I ranted a bit on how it made my skin feel oily yet look dewy right? So here's the secret to making it feel and look slightly matte and dewy.
SO WHAT'S THE MISTAKE I COMMITED:
I APPLIED MY MOISTURIZER, PRIMER AND FOUNDATION RIGHT AFTER THE OTHER WITHOUT LETTING EVERY PRODUCT DRY A BIT IN BETWEEN SO THE RESULT, A NOT-SO-GOOD MAKE- UP EFFECT ON MY FACE. SO HERE'S A STEP BY STEP GUIDE ON HOW TO MAXIMIZE THE EFFECT OF THIS LOVELY FOUNDATION.
1. MAKE SURE YOU APPLY A MOISTURIZER
2. APPLY A PRIMER (IF YOU HAVE ANY) THEN LET THE PRIMER DRY FOR 2 MINUTES
3. APPLY A SMALL AMOUNT OF FOUNDATION ON EACH PARTS OF YOUR FACE (CHEEKS, FOREHEAD, NOSE, UNDER EYES, CHIN, AREA BELOW THE NOSE, JAW) THEN MAKE SURE YOU BLEND IT EVENLY. MAKE SURE YOU ONLY APPLY A SMALL AMOUNT THEN BLEND IT WELL ON YOUR FACE.
4. IF YOU PLAN TO APPLY ANOTHER LAYER TO BUILD THE COVERAGE, LET THE FIRST LAYER DRY FOR 2 MINUTES THEN REPEAT STEP 3.
5. DO STEP 4 IF YOU PLAN TO BUILD THE COVERAGE UNTIL YOU ARE SATISFIED. THEN LET IT DRY FOR 3 MINUTES BEFORE SETTING IT WITH POWDER.
6. THEN DO THE REST OF YOUR MAKE- UP
**IT IS QUITE ADVISABLE TO USE A PRIMER BECAUSE IT KEEPS OIL AT BAY AND IT MAKES THE MAKE- UP LAST. BUT IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANY, A MOISTURIZER CAN ALSO BE A GOOD MAKE UP BASE. JUST MAKE SURE YOU LET YOUR FACIAL SKIN ABSORB IT COMPLETELY BEFORE APPLYING YOUR MAKE- UP.
So here's my face. It looks quite dewy and matte. After 5 hours, I have to retouch my powder because my actual oil is already seeping through the make- up. But the foundation didn't feel and look oily anymore. A slight touch of powder can refresh the dewy look that this foundation gives.
So after all, this ain't bad. It's lovely in it's own right.
So if you have oily skin and you're planning to try Paul and Joe's Light Cream Foundation N, go ahead, it's a matter of having the right skills to make this work perfectly on your skin.
THE BEAUTY JUNKEE'S TIP: SIT IN FRONT OF A FAN OR AN AIRCONDITIONER THAT'S AROUND 4-5 IN. AWAY FROM YOU SO THE MAKE- UP WILL COMPLETELY AND SURELY DRY. :)
